Korean delegation and IUT discuss perspective directions of cooperation

A delegation of the Republic of Korea head by general director of Spatial information policy bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Man-kyung Jun visited Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) for discussion perspective directions of cooperation.

The delegation of the Republic of Korea arrived in Uzbekistan at the invitation of the State Committee for Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and the State Cadastre to discuss issues related to boosting bilateral relations, including in the field of education.

During the meeting, the Vice-Rector of IUT Turdimurat Tursunmuratov briefed the guests about the activity of the university in training personnel in such areas as information technologies and logistics.

The guests also received information about the university’s initiatives to promote the exact sciences among young people and created conditions for students and professors.

Within the meeting, the Korean delegation was informed about the activities of the Innovation Center for Support of Development and Introduction of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”, which was established in line with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan to develop information technologies in Uzbekistan.

Man-kyung Jun underlined that he is graduate of Inha University in the Republic Korea and had a firsthand view about quality of education, provided by the South Korean university. He said that the State Committee for Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and the State Cadastre of Uzbekistan offered to open new department on geo-spatial information at Inha University in Tashkent. He added that the Uzbek state committee proposed to open department on geo-spatial information in one of the Uzbek universities and the South Korean side is ready to assist in solving this issue.

The parties agreed to discuss this issue in the working order. The delegation also got acquainted with the campus of the University and the conditions created for students and teachers.

  • Students will be exempted from taking the IUT entrance examination if they get 60 points for each subject during the final examination.
  • Only Pre-University students have a second chance to take the entrance examination.
  • First and second year students of colleges and academic lyceums will become the IUT students after a successful completion of their studies.
  • Pre-University students have an opportunity to use the university facilities.
