Assistant Professor of Rhode Island University gives lecture to IUT students

On 20 December 2017, Assistant Professor of Rhode Island University (USA) Feruz Ganikhanov visited Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) and delivered a lecture entitled “Electromagnetic oscillations and alternating current” to the students.

The meeting with IUT students was organized as part of an agreement with the compatriots from the USA on holding regular conferences for students of Uzbek universities. The arrangement was reached within the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to the United States in September 2017.

During the meeting, he gave a lecture on the subject “Electromagnetic oscillations and alternating current” and briefed the student on education processes and study opportunities at Rhode Island University, as well as conducting researches at this university.

The presentation attracted interest of the IUT students, who asked many questions about physics, studying and conducting research in the US university.

At the same time, during the lecture, Feruz Ganikhanov also quizzed IUT students on the topic of his lecture. He was very pleased and impressed that IUT students answered correctly to the majority of his questions.

At the end of the event, IUT students and physics professors Khusniddin Olimov and Alisher Sanetullayev expressed gratitude to the Assistant Professor Ganikhanov for his very informative and interesting presentation. The hosting side expressed gratitude to Feruz Ganikhanov on behalf of the Rector of Inha University in Tashkent Sarvar Babakhodjaev.

Assistant Professor Ganikhanov promised that he would definitely visit IUT next year and give another lecture on another interesting and useful topic for students.

Dr. Feruz Ganikhanov graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University in 1987, where he later received a PhD in physics and mathematics. After obtaining a PhD degree, he worked in such well-known research and academic centers as Harvard University, Cornell University and Ecole Polytechnic (France).

Currently, he works as Assistant Professor at the Rhode Island University (USA), where he delivers lectures to students at the Faculty of Physics and conducts advanced research in the field of nonlinear optics. He published many of his scientific articles in prestigious international journals in physics.
