On October 1 and 2, national stage of the NASA Space Apps Challenge was held in Tashkent.
By the recently announced results, the team Space-Y was among the top three Winners across Uzbekistan.
The team consisted of presently senior students of Inha University in Tashkent – Abdulloh Alimov and Zufarbek Zaynutdinov, as well as rest of the team Begali Aslonov (Georgetown Qatar), Adizbek Ergashev (TUIT), Humoyun Ochilov (TUIT), and Zarif Qodirov (TUIT).
The team Space-Y concentrated the scope of their solution toward the “Earth Data Analysis” challenge, among many other challenges that participants were free to choose from.
During the hackathon, the team Space-Y developed a cost-efficient SaaS (Software as a Service), asynchronously building working prototype of a drone and Cube Satellite to aid food farmers timely prevent a spread of insects so as to increase food security, accurately forecast and provide data analytics recommendations in relation to approaching advents of natural disasters (sandstorms, extreme heat, drought, and floods) for the least developed countries.
As the top three winning teams from throughout the country, the team Space-Y proceeds to participate at the global stage of the NASA Space Apps Challenge International Hackathon – to represent Uzbekistan.
