Students of IUT Doston Mardiev and Aziza Abdurakhmanova submitted their development “Smart mask” to the competition to find innovative tools and solutions to mitigate the effect of the Covid-19 challenge 2020 pandemic and reached to final.
The anti-crisis, competition, which was announced on April 7, received more than 600 applications in such categories as “Health”, “Assistance to vulnerable segments of the population”, “support for entrepreneurship and employment”, “Education”, “Leisure”. Based on the results, the organizers selected three participants in each of the categories.
The “smart mask” developed by students of IUT was included in the top three best developments in the field of healthcare.Two more developments – “Bacterial filter, mask for oxygenation and Venturi valve” and “Production of auxiliary protective devices using additive technologies” – claiming to be the winners in this category.
5th of May, the all three finalists will be invited to mentoring sessions, where each project will work out a program for possible implementation and development, testing the product.On the same day, the final of the competition will be held, and the winners in each category will be selected. The top five projects will receive of up to $ 10,000.
The organizers of the Covid-19 Challenge 2020 are,UNDP in Uzbekistan, IT Park, youth Union and the youth Academy at Innovazii, Ministry of labor, Ministry of health, chamber of Commerce, the Center of support of youth entrepreneurship development Fund “Digital trust”, the world Bank and the OSCE project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
