IUT has moved employees to work from home in distance and is testing a platform for online education of students

The day before, the head of IUT signed an order to transfer employees to work from home. According to Muzaffar  Djalalov, this way people will have less contact with other people and, of course, less chance of contracting the virus.

Since March 16, by the decision of the Uzbekistan government, all educational institutions closed for students. However, the issue with teachers and employees in many educational institutions remained open. IUT resolved this issue yesterday. By order of the acting rector, about 70% of the University’s employees were transferred to work from distance and older employees were sent on paid leave.

“Today because of conditions in Uzbekistan unfortunately we should strictly follow to the recommendations given by the Ministry of health and the world health organization. In addition to wash our hands with soap and consult a doctor at the first sign of sickness it is important to have less contact with each other, to be in busy public places, and to use public transport. That’s why we decided to exempt about 80% of our employees from physical presence in the workplace. Today, everyone has a Internet, so it is not difficult to perform work from distance and same time it is safe for everyone », said acting rector of IUT Muzaffar Djalalov.
