Today because of special sensors, the mask will be able to measure temperature, respond to coughing and shortness of breath, and send all data to your smartphone.
The 4th-year students of the Computer and Software Engineering faculty Doston Mardieyv and Aziza Abdurakhmonova decided to help to the fight against coronavirus in Uzbekistan and developed a “smart mask”.
According to the IUT, the development is a reusable mask with replaceable inserts. It is equipped with three different sensors that respond to a person’s body temperature, cough and shortness of breath. The mask connects to your phone via the mobile app. Via the sensors installed in the mask automatically sends the recorded indicators to the smartphone. The app compares this data with the well-known symptoms of COVID-19. If there are matches, the app sends a signal.
“The COVID-19 has certain symptoms that differentiate from other viral infection: high temperature, dry cough, shortness of breath.Due to the sensors, the mask easily captures this data. For example, if a person has a temperature of 38.5, coughs frequently and for a long time, and has difficulty breathing, the app will signal that the owner of the mask has a suspicion of COVID-19.We hope In the future, we plan to link the app to certain medical institutions. This way it will be easier to help people who have the appropriate symptoms”, – said Aziza Abdurakhmanova, co-author of the project.
One more author of the project Doston Mardiyev noted that the project is currently being finalized and tested. Students hope that it will be useful to society and interesting to the relevant departments or private investors.
