The “STEM education and professions for girls and women” event from UNDP was held at Inha University in Tashkent

On November 29, an event for girls on STEM education and careers for women, organized by UNDP, was held at Inha University in Tashkent.
Consuelo Vidal Bruce, UN Resident Coordinator a.i. in Uzbekistan; Ram Iyer, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan; Kamola Sabirova, advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, Shahlo Turdikulova, Deputy Minister of Higher Education Science and Innovation and Muzaffar Djalalov, rector of INHA University in Tashkent joined the event with introductory and motivational speeches.
UNDP discussed key ideas about the empowerment of girls and women in STEM education and careers in Uzbekistan.
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Laboratory in Uzbekistan presented the results of its research prepared as part of the gender equality project. A study was conducted in the city of Tashkent, Fergana, Andijan, and Surkhandarya regions, the purpose of which is to identify factors that positively influence the choice of girls and women in STEM education and professions.
The event called for investment in STEM education and careers for girls and women.
