The second Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum (CAPIF 2)

The second Central Asia Forum is being held to support regional Internet interconnection and drive Internet growth across Central Asia, Iran, and neighboring regions.

CAPIF 2 is organized jointly with Uztelecom and Inha University in Tashkent.

The forum provides an opportunity for the regional Internet community to come together to build relationships, share best practices, and increase knowledge about how the Internet can grow through better local peering and interconnection.

The rector of Inha University in Tashkent, Muzaffar Djalalov said:
“Inha University Tashkent is always committed to excellence in IT education and research. As a university, we strive to provide our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the digital age.
We hope that the collaborations and partnerships formed here will continue to bear fruit long after this event ends.”

CAPIF 2 will include presentations on a range of Internet-related topics such as best practices in peering and experiences from newly-established IXPs from Central Asia, Iran, and neighboring regions, opportunities for regional and international connectivity, and legislative and regulatory frameworks. There will be a special panel during the event dedicated to IXPs, the challenges of building it, and ways to improve.
