Inha University in Tashkent celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea

On September 30, 2022, a cultural festival dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea was held at Inha University in Tashkent. The event was organized by Inha University in Tashkent and the branch of the Korean language and culture center Tashkent 2 King Sejong.
The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of the Korean Embassy in Uzbekistan, adviser to the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov, as well as the management of the Inha University in Tashkent and representatives of large South Korean companies (KDB Bank, Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp, Samsung electronics, Uz-Kor Gas Chemical).
“I am sure that the partnership between Korea and Uzbekistan will continue to strengthen, and many more large-scale events and projects await us,” said in his speech Muzaffar Djalalov, rector of Inha University in Tashkent.
The festival presented the diversity of Korean-Uzbek culture and traditions. Festival guests were able to taste the traditional popular dishes of Korea and Uzbekistan. In the photo zones, thematic photo shoots were held, and the program was filled with bright dance performances.
A big bright part of the event was the tree planting ceremony as a symbol of friendship and prosperity of the peoples of the two countries.
Uzbekistanis are showing increasing interest in South Korea: they are learning the language, interested in k-pop music, and the number of young people who annually apply to study at Inha University in Tashkent is increasing. In this regard, the second branch of the King Sejong Institute – King Sejong Institute – was opened at Inha University in Tashkent in 2021.
King Sejong Institute develops and provides a standard curriculum and student assessment system so that everyone can learn Korean easily and systematically. This is an educational project that was founded as part of the popularization of the Korean language and culture in the world. The initiative is named after the fourth king of the ruling dynasty, who invented the Korean alphabet.
The festival ended with a general photo shoot.
