From Inha to Mercedes-Benz: The Story of Jaloliddin Abdullaev, a graduate

Jaloliddin Abdullayev is a 2022 graduate of Inha University in Tashkent, Faculty of Computer and Software Engineering. Today he lives in Germany, where he is studying for a master’s degree in Embedded Systems at the University of Siegen and works at the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz in Sindelfingen, Stuttgart.
His career in software development began back in 2020 at the Korean company Chowis, where he worked on Android development. After graduating from Inha University, he continued his career at Promo Technologies Group as an Android engineer, while simultaneously working as a teaching assistant at Central Asian University – combining both roles until moving to Germany in 2024.
The move marked the beginning of a new, difficult stage.
“I had to leave everything — my job, my familiar environment, my social circle. I came to Germany without any knowledge of the language. My master’s degree is entirely in English, so I relied only on him. But I quickly realized that English alone was not enough for the German market,” says Jaloliddin.
Over the next six months, he sent out more than 1,500 applications and received numerous rejections before perseverance brought results — an invitation from Mercedes-Benz.
“Passing the technical interview was a huge step. But the main thing here is not luck or genius, but consistency and experience. At that time, I had five years of work, and the most important thing is to be able to present this experience beautifully and competently in resumes and profiles.”
“The main conclusion is simple: you don’t need to be outstanding to achieve your goals. It is enough to be able to show the value that you already have — clearly, confidently and with dignity. Believe in yourself and your strength!”
