Startup ecosystem development in universities

On February 25, a forum on “Development of a startup ecosystem in universities” was held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies, organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies. Within the framework of the event were discussed the most important issues related to transforming universities into centers of innovation and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.

The event was opened by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, who shared his thoughts on how universities can play an active role in creating startups and supporting student initiatives. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of integrating educational programs with business and creating conditions for students to develop entrepreneurial skills.

🎙The forum featured notable participants such as Jahongir Normatov, Head of the Local2Global Department; Dalerkhon Nodirov, Deputy Director of Investments at IT Park Ventures; Bobur Abdullaev, Rector of Inha University in Tashkent; Nargiza Kasimova, Director of the Digital Finance Acceleration Center; Ravshanbek Ibragimov, Executive Director of the Tashkent branch of Startup Garage; Muhammad Mahmudov, Director of Plug and Play Uzbekistan; and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Director of IT Park Uzbekistan.

The rector of Inha University in Tashkent, Bobur Abdullaev, also gave a speech at the forum and spoke about the strategies for developing the startup ecosystem in educational institutions and the importance of creating innovation centers in universities, using the example of Inha University in Tashkent. In his speech, he emphasized the need to develop practical skills in students that will help them turn ideas into successful businesses.

The forum has become an important platform for discussing modern incubation and acceleration programs, venture investment, and the development of the technological sector in Uzbekistan. Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with successful startup cases.

The event brought together leading experts, startups, investors, as well as representatives of universities and corporations. This forum was an important step in developing the region’s startup ecosystem and supporting innovative initiatives in Uzbekistan.
