The 4th Central Asian Internet Governance Forum (CAIGF) will be held at Inha University in Tashkent on May 15-16.
CAIGF is an open platform for discussing policy issues on Internet governance in Central Asian countries, which annually brings together more than 200 participants from Central Asia, the CIS and Europe, more particularly, experts in the field of Internet governance, representatives of ministries, communication agencies, law enforcement agencies, as well as representatives of international organizations, commercial companies and research centers.
This year, the main topic of the forum will be the development of the Internet to expand opportunities in Central Asia. The forum will discuss cyber security and freedom to regulate the Internet, digital rights in a transnational context, use of the Internet to strengthen the sustainability of the region, global and national approaches to managing the Internet. The Forum will be organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in conjunction with the Public Foundation “Civil Initiative of Internet Policies” with the support of ICANN, the Internet Society, Facebook, the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan and other partners.
