On October 29, 2019, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov met with the President of Inha University in the Republic of Korea, Mr. Myeong Woo Cho and the acting Rector of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) M. Djalalov.
Inha University in Tashkent was a confirmation of the established strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. The high level of trust between the two countries shows that IUT officially remains the only branch of the South Korean Inha University, established outside of Korea.
In 2019, the second graduation of bachelors was conducted in the amount of 202 people who were experimentally trained under the “4+0” program. This program has been praised by repeated monitoring by Inha University in South Korea. The result of quality training on credit-based system of education was the delivery of the first diplomas of samples issued to graduates of Inha University in South Korea on October 26, 2019.
“At present, there are already 4 Korean universities in our country, but Inha University in Tashkent is the most productive. In Uzbekistan, the percentage of applicants who have completed 11th grade and enrolled in higher education institutions is 20%. We plan to raise this indicator to 50% by 2030. An important necessity is to attract highly qualified professors. ”- said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov.
Opportunities for enhancing the scientific potential of Inha University in Tashkent were also noted – the opening of a master’s program with innovative laboratories, the implementation of the Digital Library of Information Technology investment project at the Fundamental Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the opening of a special program at IUT for training local professors.
The parties discussed the issue of attracting investment from INHA University (Republic of Korea) and the Republic of Korea by participating in various projects.
