My name is Sevara Amirullaeva, I’m 22 and this year 2021 I graduated from the ICE faculty.
Tell us – which university in South Korea did you apply for?
I entered SEOULTECH (Seoul National University of Science and Technology) University, which is located in Seoul, on a South Korean Government Scholarship Program – GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) 2021 for Graduate Studies.
I found out about this university many years ago, back in 2016, when there was an exhibition of foreign universities. I liked this university because it is state-owned and focused on technical areas. When I started browsing universities for graduate studies, I firstly checked this university and was happy to find the faculty I needed – Computer and Science Engineering.
What was the most difficult part of the admission process?
To be honest, I do not know how strong the competition was, since we were not told how many people were applied for the GKS scholarship program this year from Uzbekistan (a total of 30 people were chosen from Uzbekistan) to SEOULTECH University. But since this is a scholarship program, which also covers all the costs of studying abroad, it is considered that it is difficult to enroll in this program.
During the online interview with representatives of the chosen faculty, it seemed to me that I did not go well enough through it and I was even sure that the university would refuse me. But to my surprise, they agreed to take me and sent my documents for the next stage. What I was insanely happy about!
What are your study expectations and plans for the future?
I expect to get a lot of knowledge and experience! South Korea is one of the most developed countries in the field of computer engineering, so I believe that I will get priceless experience studying there.
In the future, I want to become a specialist in the field of engineering and contribute to the development of this field in our country. While studying in South Korea in the field of computer engineering and possibly working there as an engineer, I want to accumulate knowledge and experience that I can use in my Motherland.
What can you say about Inha University in Tashkent?
Undoubtedly, Inha University played an important role in my student life. In fact, at the beginning of my studies, I still did not know which subjects attracted me the most and what exactly I want to do in the future. But in the early years of my studies, the university often hosted various events and competitions such as: django girls, hackathon, open data challenge, etc., which not only brightened up my student days, but also inspired me and helped me with thinking about what I want to do in future.
Also, the professors at Inha University are always supportive and student-friendly professionals in their field. Even if it was difficult at times, it was a pleasure to learn from such professors! Studying with them, I was able to acquire invaluable knowledge and make a decision regarding my future.
I would like to thank all the professors for their work! And also a special gratitude to Professor An and Professor Noh, who have always supported the students in their enrollment in the Master’s program and helped with good advice.
