“Uzbekistan-Korea Digital Government Cooperation” Seminar

On February 15, 2022, a seminar on the topic “Uzbekistan-Korea Digital Government Cooperation” was held at Inha University in Tashkent, organized by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This event was organized as part of a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Korea, headed by Deputy Minister Ko Kyu-Chang.

The seminar program was divided into sessions where participants discussed digital government strategies, data center security and other important issues.

At the event, the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov delivered a welcoming speech. In his speech, he expressed the hope that this seminar would be very useful from a practical point of view for both sides.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Korea Ko Kyu Chang, who also spoke at the seminar, noted that the Uzbek-Korean cooperation in the field of ICT is developing dynamically and has a positive trend.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Djakhongir Shukurov), Deputy Director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security of Korea Ms. Young Jeong, Deputy Director of the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea Dong Wook Lim, and Director of the National Information Resources Service Seokhee Lee.

The seminar included presentations on the strategies and status of the digital government of Uzbekistan and Korea, as well as reports on the National Tax System and the security of the data center based on artificial intelligence in the Republic of Korea.

Currently, active cooperation in the field of e-government continues between the two countries. It should be noted that Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea have been implementing a partnership in the field of e-government development since 2013.
