A graduate of Inha University in Tashkent assembled a team that participated in the largest international conference for women in technology, “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2023,” representing Uzbekistan

On June 14-15, the largest international conference for women in technology, “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2023,” took place in Warsaw, Poland. This year, the forum brought together approximately 11,000 participants from 88 countries around the world. Among them were female engineers, programmers, entrepreneurs, managers, writers, public figures, and, of course, students and young professionals who are just starting to build their careers in modern technologies, primarily information technologies. 500 speakers addressed the participants.

“My name is Nodira Ibrogimova. I graduated from Inha University in Tashkent in 2018. I am an ambassador for the Perspektywy Women in Tech program, a Google Women Techmakers ambassador, and a technical advisor for Mboalab. Currently, I am a freelance engineer-programmer for Healthcare & Machine Learning.

Back in 2018, when I was starting my career in technology, I discovered the largest summit for women that was held in Warsaw, Poland. Unfortunately, Uzbekistan was not initially included on the list of possible participants. However, after contacting the head of the organization by email, he kindly invited me to participate. Since 2019, Perspektywy has been providing scholarships to 15 girls from Uzbekistan annually.

This year, I assembled a team of seven people: Zulfiya Muytenbayeva (New Uzbekistan University), Azizabonu Israilova (Jafton.com IT company), Madinabonu Alisherova (EPAM System Inc), Hilola Ergasheva (Inha University in Tashkent), Gulbakhor Mirzalievа (Hayot Bank) and myself. All the girls were very motivated to participate in such a high-level summit.

The summit met all expectations in terms of career opportunities for girls. My goal as the team leader was to help them find opportunities in large technology companies and expand their horizons. The summit brings together new global leaders and like-minded women in one place. This gives participants a sense and real examples of how women can not only be successful in IT but also an understanding that IT is one of the most suitable areas for women.

My academic years at Inha University were an important milestone for entering the IT field with world-class knowledge taught by leading professors. The atmosphere of great support and a rigorous schedule taught me to regularly work on myself. It was a period of meeting professionals, like-minded people, and emerging leaders in this field.

Without the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, which provides grants for the participation of girls’ teams, this experience would have been impossible. This encouragement gives the younger generation a sense that they are supported when they want to contribute their global experience to the development of IT in Uzbekistan.”
